My article is on pg. 4
The NSSLHA Speaks Newsletter is a publication specifically for University of Cincinnati Communication Sciences and Disorders students and faculty. It is sent out every semester to inform those who are interested about what our NSSLHA Chapter has been involved in and is also used as an outlet for students to showcase anything that they believe would be of interest or significance to others in the major. I got the opportunity to briefly share about my experience volunteering at CCHMC Speech Division. I chose this tool as a way to disseminate my experiences because I knew that it would reach an audience that would care and be interested in maybe doing an experience like this of their own. This article connects back to my learning in that it was an additional way for me to reflect on the new knowledge that I acquired. I spoke about my experience observing a Spanish-speaking girl, which was an especially important part of my learning because this is one of the major things I was basing my experience on. I am happy that I got to share this publicly because I'm sure that maybe someone read my article and learned something that they may have not known about volunteering at Children's and maybe it will inspire them to go out and learn more about all that our field entails.
